Intuit Wins Ruling Throwing Out FTC Decision On Its Turbo Tax Software

Intuit won a legal victory on Friday when the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals threw out a Federal Trade Commission barring Intuit, the maker of the Turbo Tax tax preparation software from
advertising the product as “free,” Reuters reports. The appeals court, in a 3-0 decision, determined that it was unconstitutional for an FTC administrative law judge to rule on deceptive
advertising claims.
