CNN has sued Perplexity, accusing it of “massive copyright infringement,” Engadget reports. The complaint charges that Perplexity “unlawfully crawls, scrapes, copies, and distributes
CNN’s content from CNN Digital Platforms and third-party platforms,” and that it has copied more than 17,000 pieces of CNN content. Other media organizations suing Perplexity
include The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Reddit, Merriam-Webster, Encyclopedia Britannica and Nikkei.
