Get Ready for a Spooktacular Quest: Unravel the Mystery of Campfire Stories

Fall is officially in the air, which means it’s time for one of our favorite annual traditions: the limited-edition Trick or Trailhead badge!

This season’s quest takes you to the picturesque shores of Coral Cloud Resorts, where Astro, Ruth, Codey, and the Trailblazer crew are crafting a cozy new guest experience: nighttime “Campfire Stories” on the beach, complete with spooky tales and endless s’mores. However, Astro gets a little too obsessed with perfecting marshmallow-to-graham-cracker ratios, falls asleep under the stars, and enters a wild, campfire-story-style dream where he transforms into a giant s’more!

Learners can earn this year’s Trick or Trailhead badge by jumping into Astro’s dream—and a hands-on quest to develop real-world technical skills. By completing challenges in a Coral Cloud org, you’ll build a custom object using headless APIs to store a library of campfire stories, programmatically create a dedicated tab for that object, and configure an AI agent to recommend stories based on prompts the user provides. These tasks lead directly into understanding why decoupled, headless architectures are critical for modern app development.

Trick or Trailhead Quest

Get hands-on with headless tech and enter for a chance to win a s’mores-tastic Astro prize (1 of 175). It’s going to be a sweet treat.

Why go headless? Elevate how you build

There’s more to this quest than s’mores. As you make your way through Astro’s dream, you’ll get hands-on with headless development and see how separating Salesforce capabilities from a predefined user interface gives you more flexibility in what you build and where your experiences can live.

You’ll put that flexibility into practice with AIforce, using APIs to programmatically create a custom object and navigation, then configuring an Agentforce agent to use that data to recommend the perfect Campfire Story.

No tricks, just tech: what you’ll be building

To bring the Campfire Stories experience to life, you’ll be rolling up your sleeves in a Coral Cloud org and putting these exact headless patterns to work.

  • Create a custom object with headless APIs:: Use headless APIs to build a custom object equipped with fields designed to store a full library of spooky, fun, and intriguing campfire stories (including one very fitting story about a headless phenomenon!).
  • Create navigation programmatically:: Programmatically build a dedicated tab headlessly so your users can easily interact with and manage their story collection.
  • Configure AI-powered recommendations:  Configure an AI agent with Agentforce that can intelligently read field data to recommend the perfect story for the occasion — or prompt users to add brand-new tales to the archive.
