Senior Data Consultant – Civis in India

Cloud for Good India is seeking an experienced CIVIS Data Consultant to support data warehousing and integration initiatives in the company. 

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Civis data warehousing, SQL, database modeling, and ETL tools, along with the ability to operate as a client-facing consultant. This role requires both technical depth and business-analyst-like skills, enabling the consultant to work independently, engage stakeholders, and propose effective data solutions. 

Key Responsibilities 

Data Warehousing & Platform Expertise 

• Design, develop, and support data warehousing solutions on the Civis platform, leveraging its Redshift-based architecture. 

• Perform SQL-based data analysis, transformations, and optimizations to support reporting and analytics needs. 

• Develop and maintain database models, ensuring data accuracy, scalability, and performance. 

Data Integration & ETL 

• Build and manage data integrations and ETL workflows, primarily using Informatica (or similar ETL/middleware tools). 

• Support integrations with Azure-based systems, understanding data flows, processing pipelines, and connected applications. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues independently, ensuring reliability and data integrity. 

Client Engagement & Consulting 

• Act as a client-facing consultant, working directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify needs, and translate business questions into technical solutions. 

• Demonstrate BA-like capabilities: documenting requirements, proposing approaches, and validating solutions with clients. 

• Provide clear communication on data structures, integration logic, and solution outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Independent Delivery & Collaboration 

• Operate with a high level of autonomy, owning assigned workstreams end-to-end. 

• Collaborate with U.S.-based team members during design reviews, demos, and solution validations. 

• Participate in technical demos/interviews as part of solution validation and stakeholder confidence building. 

Qualifications  

• 4–6 years of experience in data warehousing, data engineering, or data integration roles. 

• Hands-on experience with Civis data platform (strongly preferred). 

• Strong proficiency in SQL and database modeling. 

• Experience with ETL tools, preferably Informatica. 

• Exposure to Azure for data processing, integrations, or connected systems. 

• Proven ability to work in client-facing roles, independently engaging stakeholders. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

Preferred Skills 

• Prior experience supporting nonprofit or large-scale data platforms. 

• Familiarity with Redshift or similar cloud data warehouses. 

• Experience transitioning into or operating in a consulting-style delivery model. 

• Ability to quickly adapt to new tools and platforms in environments with limited internal expertise.
