We’re excited to share that Gartner has recognized Google as a Leader for the second year in a row in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Container Management, based on its Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. Gartner predicts that by 2028, “80% of custom software running at the physical edge will be deployed in containers, which is an increase from 10% in 2023.” We believe this validates the success of our mission to be the best place for customers anywhere to run containerized workloads.

We believe we led the cloud-native and container technology wave in 2014 when we introduced Kubernetes and launched Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), the world’s first managed Kubernetes service. But GKE was just the beginning! In 2019, we launched Cloud Run, the first platform to combine the benefits of containers and serverless. Today, Cloud Run provides one of the leading developer experiences available from any cloud provider. We also extended GKE to hybrid and multi-cloud environments with Google Distributed Cloud, and introduced Autopilot mode in GKE in 2021. Today, GKE delivers the AI infrastructure in the Google AI Hypercomputer, and developers globally use both Cloud Run and GKE to create truly amazing AI-powered apps and experiences.
